UNC Charlotte Electrical & Computer Engineering Job Fair
A department-only fair where embedded and computer engineering employers come to EPIC.
8700 Phillips Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262
What this event is
UNC Charlotte's ECE department hosts its own job fair on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 in the EPIC building on the Charlotte Research Institute campus. Employer space is limited, so the room is smaller and more focused than the university-wide fair. Exact hours are posted by the College of Engineering's professional development office.
Roles you will actually see
Who should go
UNC Charlotte computer and electrical engineering students who want embedded, firmware and hardware-adjacent software roles.
Small fairs mean real conversations, so this beats the arena fair if you are ECE. Expect energy, industrial and defense employers alongside a few software shops; the defense tables will require citizenship, so ask up front and move on if you need sponsorship. Bring a project with a hardware-software boundary you can explain in two minutes. Confirm the time with Linda Thurman's office the week before.
Show up prepared
- 1Email or check the engineering PD office for the confirmed hours and employer list
- 2Prepare a two-minute embedded or systems project story
- 3Print 10 resumes and ask each employer about citizenship or sponsorship requirements first
Sponsorship reality
Sponsorship varies by employer. No organizer publishes sponsorship. Check each employer you plan to meet against H-1B disclosure data before you go, and ask in the first two minutes so neither side wastes the conversation.
Showing up is half of it.
The other half is being first to the roles these employers post, and having something real to show when you get there.
See roles the minute they go live, tailor one resume per employer, and reach the hiring manager directly. Walk into the event as a follow-up, not a stranger.
Start free13 weeks of building real AI agents and automations, so the answer to "what have you built" is a link, not a story.
