What this event is
UIC's campus-wide Fall Career & Internship Fair runs Thursday, October 1 from 11 AM to 4 PM in the Illinois Room at Student Center East. Employers span all majors; registration is through Handshake. The dedicated Engineering & Technology fair ran September 16, so this is the remaining fall option for UIC students.

Who should go
UIC students and recent grads who want software or IT roles at employers that also hire across business and operations.
Mixed-major fairs hide software roles inside companies that do not look like tech companies, so filter the Handshake list by 'software' and 'engineering' before you go. Insurance, logistics and healthcare employers in Chicago hire plenty of developers. Ask about sponsorship at the table; many mid-size Chicago firms say no and it is better to know in five minutes. Bring a resume that names your stack in the first three lines.

Sponsorship reality
Sponsorship varies by employer. No organizer publishes sponsorship. Check each employer you plan to meet against H-1B disclosure data before you go, and ask in the first two minutes so neither side wastes the conversation.
