What this event is
The MAE x MSE Career Fair runs Tuesday, October 13, 10 AM to 4 PM in Ackerman Grand Ballroom. It is open to all UCLA students but is geared toward mechanical, aerospace and materials science engineering, drawing from over 600 undergrads and 350 grad students. Employers recruit for full-time roles, co-ops and internships.

Who should go
UCLA students in CS or EE who want robotics, autonomy, controls or simulation software roles at aerospace and hardware companies.
Go only if you want hardware-adjacent software work; a pure web or backend engineer will be bored here. The upside is that the software lines are short because most attendees are mechanical majors. Expect a heavy aerospace and defense presence, and those employers will ask about citizenship up front, so be ready to move on fast. Target the robotics, EV and space startups that need embedded and autonomy engineers.
Show up prepared

- 2Bring a resume that leads with C++, Python, ROS or simulation projects
- 3Prepare a quick explanation of one hardware-software project you have shipped
Sponsorship reality
Sponsorship varies by employer. No organizer publishes sponsorship. Check each employer you plan to meet against H-1B disclosure data before you go, and ask in the first two minutes so neither side wastes the conversation.
