WomenHack – Los Angeles
Women and non-binary technologists speed-interview 15–20 inclusive employers over one happy hour.
Los Angeles, CA
What this event is
WomenHack's Los Angeles event on Thursday, November 5 runs 6 to 9 PM: check-in and happy hour at 6, keynotes at 6:30, then speed-interview rounds from 7 PM where candidates rotate through employer stations. Events are free for job seekers and open to women and non-binary people in tech; employers pay to attend. The company lineup is still being finalized.
Roles you will actually see
Who should go
Women and non-binary engineers, data scientists and PMs in LA with a couple of years of experience who want direct access to hiring managers at diversity-focused employers.
The speed-interview rounds are the whole value here, so skip the long happy-hour chat and be at the tables when rotation starts at 7. Fifteen to twenty employers means you can realistically talk to most of them; prioritize the ones with actual open reqs, which WomenHack lists on the event page a week out. Sponsorship varies wildly between the big-company sponsors and the startups, so ask on round one. Apply for the invite now because LA dates fill.
Show up prepared
- 1Apply for an invite on womenhack.com and watch for the employer list to post
- 2Prepare a 60-second intro with role, stack and what you want next
- 3Bring a QR code to your LinkedIn and follow up with every recruiter the next morning
Sponsorship reality
Sponsorship varies by employer. No organizer publishes sponsorship. Check each employer you plan to meet against H-1B disclosure data before you go, and ask in the first two minutes so neither side wastes the conversation.
Showing up is half of it.
The other half is being first to the roles these employers post, and having something real to show when you get there.
See roles the minute they go live, tailor one resume per employer, and reach the hiring manager directly. Walk into the event as a follow-up, not a stranger.
