What this event is
Industry professionals and recruiters review engineering and computing students' resumes one-on-one from a hiring perspective. It runs in the EC Panther Pit the Friday before FIU's Fall Career Fair. Registration is through FIU Handshake.

FIU CS, IT, computer and software engineering students who want recruiter feedback and a warm intro before the Sept 28 fair.
I treat resume fests as the real networking event: the recruiter reading your resume is often the same person staffing the booth next week. Ask which teams they're hiring for, then fix the resume that night. Sponsorship is company-by-company here, so ask directly and don't waste a slot on firms that say no. Bring a one-page resume and a GitHub link on it.
Show up prepared
- 1Register on FIU Handshake and print five copies of a one-page resume
- 2Write down the three companies you want at the Sept 28 fair and ask reviewers about them
- 3Apply every fix the same night so the Sept 28 version is clean
Sponsorship reality
Sponsorship varies by employer. No organizer publishes sponsorship. Check each employer you plan to meet against H-1B disclosure data before you go, and ask in the first two minutes so neither side wastes the conversation.
Showing up is half of it.
The other half is being first to the roles these employers post, and having something real to show when you get there.
