What this event is
The Clark School's ECE department hosts its fall career fair October 30 from noon to 4 PM in the Kim Engineering Rotunda. It is targeted at electrical and computer engineering students, and advance registration is strongly encouraged through the department.

UMD computer engineering and ECE students who want embedded, firmware, systems and hardware-adjacent software roles.
Department fairs beat the giant university fair for software people because the recruiter-to-student ratio is sane and every employer came specifically for your major. Expect a strong defense and semiconductor showing, which means a real split: chip and hardware companies often sponsor, defense primes usually do not. Sort the employer list into those two buckets before you go. Talk about a project with real hardware in it, not a web app.

Sponsorship varies by employer. No organizer publishes sponsorship. Check each employer you plan to meet against H-1B disclosure data before you go, and ask in the first two minutes so neither side wastes the conversation.
